After instituting the Ozobot and Sphero Programs last year which developed student collaboration and higher order thinking our teachers were trained on STEM Learning Adventures. “The program will help our students use critical thinking skills to think outside the box and solve problems that affect our community”, said JoLen Confer, middle school math and science teacher. “Our students will be required to give us more than facts.”
Our school will also add a critical element of incorporating faith teachings into the instruction. “It’s not enough to know the facts and theory of any subject,” said Mr Horan. “We need to integrate our faith into our instruction so that our children can better understand the impact of science in our lives and make decisions that benefit all while honoring what God intended.”
Our program is in its’ beginning stage, but we are excited already at the projects we are seeing and the enthusiasm it is generating among our students and teachers.
