Most Holy Trinity collected items for newborns to donate to “Guiding Star El Paso” formerly known as the House of Hope. Guiding Star El Paso, through the support of our community, reaches out to those in need with love to provide the support they need during an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy. Their services include ultrasounds, pregnancy test, peer counseling, support after a miscarriage, parenting education, material support, fertility education and theology of the body classes.
The Baby Jesus Shower has been a tradition for many years at our school. “It brings joy to my heart to give people what they need, I feel bad for those parents who need things,” said Rae Smith. Rae has a special interest in giving this year as she decided not to accept any presents this Christmas. “I want others who are less fortunate to receive presents this year”.
A major part of our Catholic Faith is the belief in the culture of life. Monica Barba from Guiding Star sent us the following message: “Mother Teresa said it very clearly when she said, "The biggest disease today, is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted, uncared for and deserted by everybody. The greatest evil is the lack of love and charity, the terrible indifference toward one's neighbor who lives at the roadside, assaulted by exploitation, corruption, poverty and disease." We can bring the love of Christ to those who have been entrusted to our care because of support provided by those in our community such as Most Holy Trinity Catholic School.
Projects like these help our students understand the importance of caring for others as they contribute items to help.
