Most Holy Trinity will have 3 teams compete in the Diocesan Academic Decathlon March 2nd at St. Pius X. Our decathletes have been busy preparing the past 2 months in different events, including logic, math, literature, English grammar, science, social studies, religion and fine arts.
Alex Nava is our 8th grade team captain. "I feel ready because I have done it before. I also feel I can help my team mates." Alex competed in last year's inaugural event, in which our team took 1st place. Camila Lopez also competed last year, and is now our 7th grade team captain. "Our team works well together." Camila will compete in Religion: "I feel like I am prepared; I have studied my book and I think I am ready." Our 6th Grade captain is Aurora Valdez. "I feel excited. I have been working with Mr. Moreno on math." Most Holy Trinity fielded multiple team this year to try to take advantage of the number of exceptionally strong students we have. Other schools competing this weekend will be St. Pius and St. Raphael. St. Raphael and St. Pius are fielding one team each. Our decathletes are primed and ready. Aurora Valdez: "I am happy for my team, it's our first time in this." We are looking forward to a positive experience for all our decathletes.
Good luck, GO CRUSADERS!
