Most Holy Trinity celebrated Red Ribbon Week with several theme days, instruction and discussion about the importance of staying away from drugs.
Grace Tolentino talked about what she learned during Red Ribbon Week. “I learned that drugs can affect my health and smoking could damage my lungs, “she said. When asked about getting older and possibly facing offers of taking drugs she responded, “After what I learned I would say no .” Jaelynn Oguete enjoyed the Storybook Character Dress Up Day. Jaelynn dressed as Mulan, her favorite Disney Princess. “Don’t take drugs”, she responded firmly when asked about what she learned from Red Ribbon Week.
Our students finished up Red Ribbon Week activities with a rosary for those who are experiencing problems with drug or alcohol addiction, as well as their families and their friends. All week we emphasized to our students that God created them and that He has a plan and purpose for their life. While we don't know what God has planned for them yet, drugs can never be part of that plan. This is something that we will always need to remind our students of, as temptation will always be there as they get older. We hope that they learned this important lesson and we hope they embrace it throughout their lives.
